In his will Colonel Jordan, Fortune's father, provides "on the 15 day of every October a Sermon of Mortality be had at my house, the day my daughter Fortune Hunt died. If the day come on Sunday, Holy Communion to be given. Who ever shall enjoy the land, be it one thousand generations, who possesses the land shall perform both Serman and Prayer." (B.2, p 191)
