Thomas and his father came to Creek County, Oklahoma in 1908 and settled in the Olive township. When they first came to Oklahoma they had to live in a dugout until a home could be built.

One son died when he was one year old and is buried in the Union Grove Baptist Cemetery in Marshall County, Alabama. Thomas's family along with his father came to Creek County, Oklahoma after 1908 and settled in the Olive Township. When this family first came to Oklahoma they had to live in a dugout until a home could be built.
