Notes for Mary Edna Brickhouse

Edna had taken an old book about teaching which probably belonged to her father and made it into a kind of scrapbook where she glued things clipped from newspapers like pictures of Gibson Girl clothing and hair styles; face cream, health and skin remedies; recipes and a few pencil written notes. This book was in the possession of Lynn Livesey, Pace Florida on January 29, 2005. Lynn is the granddaughter of Edna's sister Alma.
Written in the front fly leaf, "3,23. 08., Anniston, Ala, Edna Brickhouse "I will walk by your side through a happy meadow, till your pain ceases or if you head presses a pillow, I'll sit by your bedside and bathe you with the spirit of life that surges within me. Jacksonville, Ala.
Written on another page was "I hope it doesn't rain Sunday so I can sing sing." Then another page "choir practice tonight". Then a page of written dates: Went to Chelsea Ala, August the 16th 1909, moved to Anniston, Oct the 15th, moved to Deerhurst, Ala., Jan, the 25th 1910, to Grasmere, Ala., May the 15th, to Stewart, Ala, July the 5th, moved back to Deerhurst, Ala., October the 6, moved to Montevallo, Ala, Jan. 27. 1911, to Calera, Ala., Oct 5, 1911

From Death Certificate, Jefferson County, Alabama, 101-12-07831, Dated January 25, 1912: was sick for 7 days with typhoid contracted in Birmingham and in St Vincent Hospital for 4 days where she died.
