From Noble Acker, page 347: One of the first houses of worship in Anderson County, SC was Big Creek Baptist Church located 3 miles from Williamston, SC. Formed in 1789, to date the church records are still intact. It is stated by relatives that Susannah (Halbert) Acker, wife of Peter II was baptized there and later moved to Shady Creek Church.
