From Icle Smith: After the Cherokees had signed a treaty and been removed to Oklahoma, they soon find new homes on the South side of the Tennessee River. Deeds show that they were in Sec. 20, T. 6, R. 6. There we find them selling land as late as 1868, that is the heirs selling.
