"He served in the Revolutionary War as Private June 1777 in Captain James Gray's Company, 15th Virginia Regiment of Foot commanded by Lt. Col. After the War was over he was honorably discharged.
In later years he and some of his family migrated to Kentucky, settled near Bowling Green, I learned later, he and his wife had seven children, four boys and three girls.

His body is buried on the Gasper River, 15 miles out from Bowling Green, Kentucky. DAR of Bowling Green has erected a suitable marker there. In August 2003, according to Jack Sublett of Bowling Green, Kentucky his tombstone had been moved by one of Jack's cousins from the old cemetery in the woods where it was overgrown and the stone had fallen over. His cousin put it in the back of his truck and moved it to Highland Baptist Church Cemetery about 14 miles NW of Bowling Green on Hwy 231, turn right on Hwy 626, 2.4 miles on left. Marker says "Benjamin Sublett Corp 15 Va Regt. Rev War 1809"
